Recently, forbes.com decided it would force users to disable their browser’s adblocking protection in order to view pages on the site.
Notice I termed adblocking as protection – adblocking software such as Adblock Plus and Ghostery are no longer just a means to unclutter the UX and spare you annoyance.
Adblockers are fundamental security requirements in an age where malware and exploits find their way to you via the glut of externally loaded content that positively bloats the modern web experience.
One could simply avoid forbes, and give up when they present you with the grey screen of non-conformity,
but thanks to the magic of user-agent switching,
you don’t really have to.
